American Trenton Film Festival to screen ‘Slight Pain’

Iranian short film ‘Slight Pain’ is to vie at the 2022 Annual Trenton Film Festival in the US.

Iranian short film ‘Slight Pain’ has found a screening slot at the 2022 Annual Trenton Film Festival in New Jersey, the US.

Iranian director Pouya Nabi’s ‘Slight Pain’ will mark its 10th international premiere at the 4th edition of the American screening event.

‘Slight Pain’ is the story of two young girls who team up together in a murder plan to kill one of the girl’s strict stepdad.

The 25-minute long flick stars Gilda Vishki and Marjan Ettefaghian as the two only actors of the film.

‘Slight Pain’ is Nabi’s fourth film production following ‘Silent’, ‘Honeymoon’ and ‘Sleepwalkers’, which all were warmly received in international film festivals.

Produced by Alireza Alavian, ‘Slight Pain’ was screened at the 2022 annual Poppy Jasper International Film Festival (PJIFF), the 3rd Asterisk Film Klubb in Norway and the 15th MEME PAS PEUR International Film Festival in France.

‘Slight Pain’ is an adaptation of ‘The Housekeeper and the Professor’ by Japanese writer Yōko Ogawa.

The festival aims to build “a better understanding of filmmaking, to explore the issues and perspectives in a variety of films–from local to international–and to build an appreciation of the film arts,” the event’s official website reads.

The upcoming edition of the Trenton Film Festival will be held on May 05 – 20, 2022.
